Super Bowl ReBrand
The Super Bowl that's coming to the Bay Area in February 2016 will not be labeled as "The Big L," afer all. The NFL on Wednesday revealed its official logo for the Super Bowl to be held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. And for one year, the NFL has decided to do away with Roman numerals. Instead of the possible punchline-inspiring "Super Bowl L," the game will officially be recognized as Super Bowl 50, something the loser of the championship game will certainly come to appreciate. The game will be played at the 49ers' new stadium on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016. The NFL will return to Roman numerals for Super Bowl LI at Reliant Stadium in Houston in February 2017.
The NFL released two Super Bowl 50 logos - one for national use and one for regional. The regional logo features the Lombardi Trophy in front of Levi's Stadium with silhouettes of a few Bay Area iconic landmarks within the gold "50." We can't say we hate it!
