How-To Get More Decorative With Your Pumpkin Designs!

If there is one thing that any design agency loves, it’s the excuse to get creative with anything! Halloween happens to be one of our favorites excuses to get wild with our costumes, office décor, and pumpkins!

One of the best techniques for creating a unique Halloween decoration is to not carve your pumpkin at all. There are plenty of other tools to use, like markers, paints, paper cutouts, bedazzles, and other decorations. This way, you can avoid the mess and keep all the fun!

If you must have those pumpkin seeds, we recommend quality carving tools, and not just pumpkin carving tools—anything! You can use cookie cutters, kitchen utensils, and even power tools. You’ll carve like a pro!

Let’s not forget that you don’t have to carve all the way into the pumpkin. Here is where you can get really creative: You can have different carved levels to create depth in your design!

For those with artistic skills, just draw on your pumpkin and have fun with it! For those that don’t feel too creative, there are always plenty of stencils available to print out or buy in stores. But if you want to take it to another level, make your own design and print it out. You’ll be surprised what you can come up with.

Lastly, you want your masterpiece to last, right? You should clean your pumpkin (usually equal parts of water and bleach do the trick) before you start to carve or decorate. Also, coat the inside and any carved areas of your pumpkin with petroleum jelly so it doesn’t rot too fast, keep it away from direct sunlight, and try to use artificial lights.
